Nino Sharikadze

In 2013, Nino Sharikadze was awarded a master’s degree in Biopharmacy from Ilia State University. In 2018, she successfully defended her PhD thesis at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering and became PhD in Molecular Biotechnology and Biochemistry. Her PhD thesis was “Flavonoid Nobiletin’s Action on Mitochondrial Bioenergetics”. She published 2 articles in high-impact refereed journals during her PhD. In 2015-2016 Nino Sharikadze participated in the MID Erasmus Mundus exchange program between the University of Bordeaux and Ilia State University, where she did part of her PhD research in Cell Energy Metabolism Laboratory (Bordeaux, France). From 2013 to 2019, she worked as a researcher at the Institute of Chemical Biology of Ilia State University. In 2019 she became a postdoctoral fellow at the Integrative Neuroscience Branch, Cellular Pathobiology Section, NIDA, National Institutes of Health.

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), I am passionate about exploring the molecular mechanisms of cellular stress response systems and their implications for drug addiction. With over 10 years of research experience in biochemistry and molecular biology, I have contributed to multiple publications, and projects in collaboration with leading institutions and experts in the field. I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biotechnology from Ilia State University, part of my PhD thesis was done at Université de Bordeaux and a Master of Biopharmacy from Ilia State University. I have also developed skills in various laboratory techniques, data analysis, and scientific communication. My goal is to advance the knowledge and understanding of the biological processes that underlie human health and disease and to apply my skills and expertise to innovative and impactful research. I am eager to join a diverse and dynamic team that shares my vision and values, and that offers opportunities for learning, growth, and collaboration.
