Gvantsa Chkadua studied Biology at Tbilisi State University. In 1994, after the graduation from the University, she started working at the I. Beritashvili Institute of Physiology, in the Membranology laboratory. In 1997, she obtained her degree the Candidate of Sciences, on the topic “The definition of essential activator and full inhibitor numbers according to the geometric form analysis of the kinetic curve”. While doing her Doctors degree, she worked on the kinetic analysis of Na,KATPase and in 2004 obtained the degree of Doctor of Sciences. Since 2020 she is the director at I. Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine. Her main research focus is the kinetic study of multi-sited enzyme systems, specifically transporting ATPases, deciphering their molecular mechanisms, and study of their regulation principles. She is the author of 45 scientific papers.
