Eladar K Gasimov graduated from the AMU in 1966 and began his career in the department of human anatomy, received a PhD in Yaroslavl State Medical Institute in 1981, from 1986 to 1990, he was Research Associate Professor 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (Russia) in the laboratory of microcirculation and electron microscopy, and in 1991 he received a degree DSc in the field of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology. From 1999 to the present – Head of the Department of Histology of Embryology and Cytology.
The main areas of scientific interests and research are: macro-microscopic anatomy and myeloarchitecture of the peripheral and central nervous system; histotopography and ultrastructural organization of the membranes, vessels and nerve fibers of the spinal and cranial nerves; functional morphology of cells and tissues: endothelial cells, pericytes, smooth myocytes, nerve and glial cells; permeability of membranes and vessels of the peripheral and central nervous system for macro- and micromolecular tracers; the role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of changes in the microvascular bed of the CNS and PNS during aging and under the influence of various factors.
